Wednesday nights just got a rivalry.

For NBC Sports' NHL Wednesday Night Rivalry, we built a hockey arena from scratch – entirely in CG. Every seat, every light rig, every panel of glass, every reflection. The show open starts high in the rafters and crashes down through the scoreboard to ice level, where a puck hangs suspended in the air – the moment before two players collide. The impact sends it into the plexiglass barrier, where it strikes an NBC Sports Wednesday Night Rivalry logo sculpted onto the glass.

From there, we developed the full broadcast package: sponsor billboards, team matchups, lower thirds, transitions, rejoins, bumps – around 20 elements in total. The package ran for multiple seasons and was updated over the years to accommodate new show sponsors.
