Executive produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, History's The Men Who Built America: Frontiersmen chronicles the first 75 years of the United States – from the Revolution through the Gold Rush – through the lives of Daniel Boone, Lewis and Clark, Davy Crockett, Andrew Jackson, and the explorers who pushed west before there were maps to follow.
We began with the objects. Each frontiersman left behind artifacts that defined their story: a compass for the cartographers, a steel trap for the trailblazer, a rifle for the soldier. We built these relics in CG with the reverence of museum pieces – worn, weathered, lit like they'd just been unearthed. The approach started as a fully CG upfront teaser, then evolved into this long-form trailer – intercut with show footage to bring the frontiersmen themselves into frame. We handled editorial, graphics, and titles.
Role: Concept. Design. Logo Design. Animation. Editorial.
